Marion Marlins Swim Team Requirements and Eligibility:

• Swimmers must live in the Marion Marlins Team Area.
• If your town does not have a swim team, contact us about eligibility.

ALL SWIMMERS MUST:

• Wear the team suit or a solid navy suit at dual meets (Tues/Thurs).
• Wear a latex cap (caps will be provided). Silicone caps are available for an extra cost.
• Ensure suits cover at least 80% of the bottom.
• Order suits from the team store: Marion Marlins Team Store.

Swim Skill Requirements:

• Ages 10 & under – Must swim 25m freestyle or backstroke (unassisted).
• Ages 11-14 – Must swim 50m freestyle (unassisted).
• Ages 15-18 – Must swim 100m freestyle (unassisted).

Practice Commitment:

• Swimmers are expected to attend a minimum of 3 practices per week.
• Coaches strongly encourage attending all 5 practices.

Meet Participation:

• Swim meets are required to be on the team.
• Swimmers must attend at least 3 meets to be eligible for the championship meet.
• We understand that other sports, vacations, and obligations may arise.

Parent Involvement Requirement:

• Parent volunteering is required—swim teams rely heavily on parent support.
• If your child is swimming, you will be placed on the worker list to work a shift.
• Parents/Volunteers of younger swimmers scheduled for 1st shift duties.
• Parents/Volunteers of experienced swimmers scheduled for 2nd shift duties (as they will be at the meet until the end).
• Each Parent/Volunteer will fill out a form choosing your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice job preference. The Voluneer Coordinator will do their best to honor your choices based on need/availability of each swim meet.

Volunteer Buyout Option:

• A $200 buyout is available, which exempts you from volunteering at dual meets only (Tues/Thurs).
• This does NOT include Invitational volunteer lists.
• If you do not volunteer or pay the buyout, your swimmer will not be allowed to participate in the meet.

Season Invitational Pass:

This season, we’re making it easier than ever for families to plan ahead with our Season Invitational Pass—and we’re offering a $10 discount when you pay in full! Instead of paying for each invitational separately, you can save money and simplify your season with one upfront payment.

How It Works:

• Covers all 6 invitationals for the season
• Includes an average of 4 strokes per meet
• $5 per stroke = $20 per meet
